Terms of use
Plain terms for a straightforward service.
These terms govern your use of FileGizmo. By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully, protect your own source files, and review outputs before relying on them.

1. The service
FileGizmo provides browser-based utilities for transforming files and text. Most processing happens locally on your device. The site may change, add, remove, or improve tools over time.
2. Your files and responsibility
You keep ownership of the files and content you use. FileGizmo does not claim rights to them. You are responsible for having permission to process that content and for keeping an original backup.
Review every result before replacing an original or using it for legal, financial, medical, archival, production, or other consequential work. File formats are complex, and a technically valid output may still omit unsupported features or differ from the source.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use FileGizmo to violate law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, distribute malware, attack the site, bypass security controls, or interfere with other people’s use of the service.
4. Privacy and local processing
File content processed by the tools is not intentionally uploaded to a FileGizmo processing server. Browser behavior, extensions, compromised devices, third-party links, and files you later upload elsewhere remain outside FileGizmo’s control. Read the privacy page for the current data practices.
5. Availability and warranties
FileGizmo is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that every tool will be uninterrupted, error-free, suitable for a particular purpose, or compatible with every file. Nothing on the site is professional advice.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FileGizmo and its maintainer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of the service, inability to use it, or reliance on an output. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it is limited to the minimum amount required by law.
7. Third-party services and links
The site may link to third-party resources such as GitHub or browser documentation. Their services, content, and privacy practices are governed by their own terms, not these terms.
8. Changes to these terms
Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after a change means the revised terms apply from that point forward.
9. Questions
Questions or concerns can be raised through the contact page.
