Practical sequence

A minimum-necessary document workflow

  1. Use only an approved device and confirm the purpose, authority, minimum necessary data, recipient, and retention requirement before selecting a file.
  2. Preserve the source record. Make a task-specific working copy and remove pages or metadata that the authorized recipient does not need.
  3. Treat OCR as draft transcription. Compare identifiers, dates, medication names, units, values, and clinical terms directly with the scan.
  4. Review the output, deliver it through the organization’s approved secure channel, and clear local downloads or recovery state according to policy.

Local processing is one control, not a compliance verdict

  • FileGizmo does not diagnose, interpret results, verify clinical accuracy, manage consent, or replace an EHR, records department, or approved secure exchange.
  • No page can guarantee HIPAA, GDPR, or other compliance for an organization. Compliance depends on the full workflow, contracts, roles, devices, policies, and jurisdiction.
  • A protected PDF can still be mishandled after download. Recipient identity, password exchange, screen exposure, local storage, backups, and deletion remain important.

Is FileGizmo a medical record system?

No. It has no patient account, chart, clinical inbox, remote document store, audit log, or records-management workflow. It is a set of local browser file tools.

Does local processing automatically make a workflow compliant?

No. It avoids a FileGizmo upload for ordinary file tools, but compliance depends on the organization’s complete legal, technical, contractual, and operational context.

Can OCR text be used as a verified clinical transcription?

Not without review. OCR can misread identifiers, units, values, drug names, abbreviations, tables, and poor scans. Compare every consequential field with the source.

Where does a protected healthcare PDF go?

The browser saves it to the device or location the user chooses. FileGizmo does not receive it, but the downloaded file remains subject to local access, sharing, backup, and retention controls.
