Add Page Numbers to PDF in three steps
FileGizmo adds visible page numbers to a PDF entirely in your browser. Use it for reports, submissions, appendices, printed packets, or any document that needs clearer navigation. Choose an unlocked PDF, enter an optional page range, set the first displayed number, and select a bottom-left, bottom-center, or bottom-right position. Leave the range blank to number every page. You can also choose a small, medium, or large text size before creating the updated file.
The tool draws new vector text onto each selected page instead of rasterizing the document, so existing text remains selectable and images are not recompressed. Numbering follows the order of the selected pages: if the range begins at page 3 and the starting value is 1, page 3 receives the first number. The PDF is read and modified by a local browser worker, with no upload, signup, or server copy. Download and review the result to confirm that the chosen footer position does not overlap content near a page edge.
