Why this tool

Extract exactly the PDF pages you need in one private pass

Split a long PDF into individual pages or purposeful page groups without uploading the document. Enter comma-separated ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, 9 and FileGizmo creates one PDF for each range. Leave the range field blank when you want every page exported separately. All generated documents are packaged into one convenient ZIP download.

Page extraction takes place inside a dedicated browser worker. The source document stays on your device, and pages are copied directly rather than rendered into images. That preserves selectable text, vector shapes, embedded images, page dimensions, and original visual quality. Range validation catches reversed, malformed, or out-of-bounds page numbers before creating an archive.

This workflow is useful for separating invoice batches, sharing selected report sections, extracting signed pages, or dividing scanned records. Password-protected documents must be unlocked before use. Large, image-heavy PDFs may require significant memory, particularly when creating hundreds of individual output documents, so custom ranges are more efficient when separate pages are unnecessary.

Use ranges to describe the output documents rather than merely the pages to keep. For example, 1-3, 4-8, 9 produces three files: one containing pages one through three, another containing pages four through eight, and a final one-page PDF. Page numbers are one-based, matching the numbering people see in most readers. The tool rejects reversed ranges and pages beyond the source total before spending time building the archive.

Splitting does not edit page contents. It will not remove a header, crop margins, or erase information elsewhere on an extracted page. If a page contains private text next to the section you want, use a real redaction workflow before sharing. Likewise, a visual signature remains visible when its page is copied, but a document-level certificate signature may no longer validate once the signed file is divided into new documents.

The ZIP exists because browsers handle one deliberate download more reliably than hundreds of automatic downloads. Extract the archive with the file manager already included in Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, or Linux. Each output name includes the source stem and page range, making it easier to identify the pieces after extraction. Open a sample and compare the expected page counts before distributing the set.

For a very large PDF, grouping related pages is faster and lighter than creating one file per page. The browser must hold source and output data in local memory while packaging the ZIP. If a mobile tab reloads, retry on a desktop device with more available memory or divide the work into smaller source documents.

No file contents are sent to FileGizmo during this process. You can disconnect after the page and required code have loaded, or watch the Network panel while the browser copies pages. The resulting archive remains on your device until you choose where to move or share it.

When the source has bookmarks or a table of contents, remember that extracted files may no longer have the same navigation context. Give each range a clear purpose and retain the original for reference. Recipients should receive only the pieces they need, with filenames and surrounding explanation that make the new document boundaries unambiguous.

Built for the whole job

Everything you need

Flexible page ranges

Create groups such as 1–3, 4–6, and 9, or leave the field empty to export every page as its own PDF.

Direct page copying

Text, vectors, images, and page dimensions stay in PDF form because pages are copied instead of rendered into bitmaps.

One organized ZIP download

Every generated PDF is named from the source document and packaged locally into a single archive for convenient download.

Nothing is uploaded — verify it yourself

Processing runs on this device. Open the browser’s Network panel while the tool works and you will see no file upload request to FileGizmo. Temporary previews use local browser URLs, and closing or resetting the page releases them instead of leaving a server copy behind.

No limits, no watermarks

Use the tool without a daily task counter, account wall, output watermark, or artificial upload cap. FileGizmo does not meter a transfer it never receives. Available memory, processor speed, browser canvas limits, and the file format itself set the honest practical boundary.

Works on any device — and offline after first load

Use a current browser on desktop, Android, iPhone, or iPad without installing an app. Once this tool and its required assets load, the cached workflow works without a connection. Large jobs are usually more comfortable on a desktop with additional memory.
