FileGizmo — PDF tools
Type, draw, or upload a signature, choose its page and position, and place it into a PDF locally.
Unlimited edits. No daily tasks. Your work survives a crash. Your file still never leaves.
Why this tool
Place a typed, hand-drawn, or uploaded signature mark on a chosen PDF page without creating an account or uploading the contract. This tool is for visible approval marks, not certificate-backed identity verification.
A visible signature is useful when a form, acknowledgement, permission slip, or informal agreement asks for the appearance of a handwritten mark. Choose the PDF, select a signature method, and confirm the page before applying it. Typed mode creates a clean name mark, drawing mode works with a mouse, stylus, or finger, and upload mode is appropriate when you already have a cropped signature image.
The page number refers to the PDF’s actual sequence, beginning with page one. It may differ from a number printed inside a scanned document. Open the source in a reader and count from the first PDF page when unsure. Position options are intentionally constrained so placement stays predictable across varying page dimensions. Inspect the preview area and downloaded file to ensure the mark does not cover dates, amounts, checkboxes, or important text.
This operation creates a new PDF with a visible graphic. It does not use a certificate, verify the signer’s identity, lock later edits, create a trusted timestamp, or produce the cryptographic validation shown by professional digital-signature software. Whether a visible electronic signature is acceptable depends on the document, organization, and applicable rules. For regulated, high-value, or identity-sensitive agreements, use the signing method required by the recipient and obtain appropriate advice.
An uploaded signature image should be tightly cropped and have a plain or transparent background. A PNG with transparency usually blends into the page more naturally than a photograph of paper. Do not upload someone else’s signature or place a mark without authority. FileGizmo provides a local placement tool; it cannot establish consent or legal capacity.
The browser reads the PDF and signature source locally, draws the selected mark into a new copy, and offers that copy for download. No account profile stores your signature for later reuse. That reduces exposure, but you still control the downloaded file. Save it in an appropriate location, review every page that matters, and share it only with the intended recipient.
Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked by their owner before use. Complex interactive forms and existing certificate signatures deserve extra care because modifying the document can invalidate earlier cryptographic assurances. Keep the untouched original until the recipient confirms acceptance.
Before sending, open the downloaded copy in a separate PDF reader rather than relying only on the browser preview. Confirm that the signature appears on the intended page, its background is acceptable, no content is obscured, and the document still contains every expected page. Use a descriptive filename and avoid emailing an editable signature image alongside the finished PDF.
For repeat documents, prepare a clean transparent signature asset and store it securely on your own device. FileGizmo deliberately does not maintain a cloud signature library, recipient address book, audit trail, or reusable identity profile. That makes the workflow quieter and more private, while leaving recordkeeping and recipient verification under your control.
Simple by design
Choose an unlocked PDF
Type draw or upload a signature and choose its placement
Apply and download the signed copy
Built for the whole job
Create a signature with a name, draw one using touch or a pointer, or choose a tightly cropped PNG or JPG from your device.
Select a valid page and place the mark in a supported corner or centered-bottom position with a predictable size.
FileGizmo adds the visible mark to a new PDF copy so the original remains available for comparison and safekeeping.
Processing runs on this device. Open the browser’s Network panel while the tool works and you will see no file upload request to FileGizmo. Temporary previews use local browser URLs, and closing or resetting the page releases them instead of leaving a server copy behind.
Use the tool without a daily task counter, account wall, output watermark, or artificial upload cap. FileGizmo does not meter a transfer it never receives. Available memory, processor speed, browser canvas limits, and the file format itself set the honest practical boundary.
Use a current browser on desktop, Android, iPhone, or iPad without installing an app. Once this tool and its required assets load, the cached workflow works without a connection. Large jobs are usually more comfortable on a desktop with additional memory.
